At St. Christopher Parish, we joyfully accompany our families and students as they prepare to receive the sacraments. Sacramental preparation is a time of spiritual growth, learning, and deeper participation in the life of the Church.
Below you will find information for preparation for Reconciliation (Confession), First Holy Communion, and Confirmation for children. If you are wanting information on adult Sacramental prep, please click the button below.

Reconciliation (Confession)
Preparation for the Sacrament of Reconciliation helps children understand God’s mercy, forgiveness, and love. Through prayer, instruction, and guided reflection, candidates learn how to examine their conscience and celebrate this healing sacrament with confidence and peace. Reconciliation is typically received prior to First Holy Communion. Parents play an important role in preparing their child by encouraging prayer, modeling forgiveness, and participating in parish formation opportunities.
First Holy Communion (Eucharist)
Preparation for First Holy Communion centers on understanding the Real Presence of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist. Children grow in their awareness of the Mass, the meaning of the altar, and the gift of receiving Our Lord in Holy Communion. This preparation includes catechesis, parent meetings, prayer experiences, and opportunities to grow in reverence and love for the Eucharist. Families are encouraged to attend Mass regularly and actively participate in parish life throughout the preparation process.
Confirmation
Confirmation completes Christian initiation and strengthens the gifts of the Holy Spirit received at Baptism. During preparation, candidates deepen their understanding of the faith, grow in personal prayer, and reflect on their call to live as missionary disciples. Preparation includes catechetical formation, service opportunities, retreat experiences, and active participation in parish life. Candidates are encouraged to take ownership of their faith and continue growing in their relationship with Christ and His Church.
